Villa Lindos

Lindos is a fascinating place, and regarded as the best resort in Rhodes. It is typically Greek and built around the Acropolis which dates back to 300BC. There are also the Captains Houses which traditionally all look out to sea. Some of which are now beautifully restored as restaurants as is the luxurious Conde Nast Hotel Melenos. Lindos is a fascinating maze of narrow cobbled streets and white washed houses that almost cling to the hillside that is topped with an Acropolis,the temple of Athena. Lindos is the most visited and photographed area on the island. A preservation order ensures that the village is not subject to change, and the narrow streets ensure that the only traffic you’ll see is the donkey!!

The main beach surrounds a perfect natural harbour, into which arrive daily boat trips from Rhodes Town, tall ships and other craft. It is a busy beach, with something for everyone. Take a boat trip, or a sea cruise from the local jetty, or just relax.

The area of Haraki is renowned for the mediaeval castle that overlooks the whole area.It was actually used by pirates before the Knights of St. John ousted them, when it was reinforced and used as a prison. Reached from the track by a footpath leading to steps. It is a good climb and fairly rough underfoot.
Like many of these fortifications on the islands, the walls are the only significant remains. Narrow footpaths lead around the enclosure and there are excellent views from the walls down to the beautiful beach at Agathi, with it's beautiful sea. Haraki Bay is encompassed with some lovely tavernas and bars, serving typically Greek food,and Fresh Fish. and is a firm favourite of the locals at weekends.
